This is the third class of Martyrs in the ancient copies of the Martyrology of Saint Jerome: with which another manuscript of the Duke of Altemps agrees, and the Martyrs are thus mentioned: "At Thessalonica; of Ingeniana, Saturninus, Parthenius, Dionysius, Panterus, Alexander." The two first are referred to in the Reichenau manuscript; but all six in the Bellinian Martyrology, published in an enlarged edition at Paris in 1521. There is some diversity in the writing. Ingeniana is found in the fourth place, which is also written Ingenua and Ingenianus. Parthenius is also called Partemus, Partinus, and Paternus; and for Panterus is also found Pantenus. Alexander is joined to the following class in the Cassinensis manuscript. In the Vatican manuscript, for Dionysius, Dominus seems to be read, and to him is joined Victor, who again is in the following class. Alexander in the Cassinensis manuscript is joined to other Martyrs: the memory of Saints Dionysius and Stephen Martyrs is inscribed in the Calendars of the ancient Ambrosian Missal and Breviary among the Milanese. But Stephen belongs to the following class.
