ON ST. TUIANUS, ABBOT, IN ARMORICAN BRITTANY.
CommentaryTuianus, Abbot, in Armorican Brittany (St.)
I. B.
An ancient printed Breviary of the Church of Quimper in Armorican Brittany, on February 1, after three Readings about St. Ignatius and nine about St. Brigid, adds: "On the same day, of St. Tuianus, Abbot, from the common of one Confessor, not a Bishop." We have observed nothing about him elsewhere. It had occurred to us to wonder whether perhaps St. Tudinus, the companion of St. Winwaloe and disciple of St. Corentin, might be the same; but in the same Breviary, in the Life of St. Corentin, he is expressly called Tudinus, not Tuianus.
