A minimal notice from the Greek Menaea of St. Mark the Deaf, who rested in peace. A Greek distich appended to his entry explains that he did not hear earthly words even before leaving the earth.

Marcus the Deaf (St.)

The Menaea: On the same day, St. Mark rested in peace. That he was deaf is indicated by the appended distich:

Greek: ho Markos ouk ekoue geiinon logon kai prin lipein gen ota gethen exagon

"Mark did not hear earthly words, And before leaving the earth, he drew his ears away from the earth."
