The manuscript Martyrology of St. Jerome: "In Spain, of Agentus, Donatus, Augustinus, Salvius, Felix, Donatus the Priest, Florus, Geminus, Patius, Pausalinus, Eugenius, Stephanus, and twelve others." In the ancient manuscript from the Irish convent of Dungal, mention is made of some of these, namely Augentus, Donatus, Felix, Pausalinus, and Eugenius -- unless this last is the companion of Saints Quinctus, Januarius, Philoromus, etc., of whom we have already treated. The names of some have been worn away. Added are Saints Philo, Felicitas, Cyriacus, Ebiciarius, Castolius, Morositus, and likewise Castolius. Are these among the twelve companions whose names the Martyrology of St. Jerome does not record? The manuscript from Rheinau: "In Africa, of Felix." Could this perhaps be the same man who is said to have suffered with others in Spain, and is there an error in one or the other location? The manuscript Florarium Sanctorum, the Carthusians of Cologne in their Additions to Usuard, and Maurolycus, in the very same words: "Likewise of Eugenius and Felicitas, Martyrs." The ancient Martyrology of Cologne: "On the same day, of Saints Eugenius and Felicitas, Martyrs." This may be the Eugenius who is listed above among the African Martyrs, or the one among these Spanish Martyrs. Felicitas is celebrated separately in the most ancient manuscript calendars of the monasteries of St. Maximin and Echternach, the latter of which is appended to the manuscript Martyrology of St. Jerome.
