I have already said that this little handful of Martyrs is unknown to all Martyrologies except the Hieronymian: moreover, that in these the manner of announcing is not concordant. In the Lucca codex, no memory of them: that the Epternach is truncated, I have also noted; for it writes: Likewise at Rome, of Euticius, Gradinus, Alaxus, Amideanus, the Deposition. In the Blume codex you would likewise miss completeness, when it reads: Of Hisicius, Amidas, Amigradus, Arixus. Behold the more complete text of the Corbie codices: Of Hisicius, Amidas, Amigradina, Arixus, Jocundianilla; on whose faith we have thought that the names of those five Saints should here be consigned under doubt, whether it should be written Amigradinus or Amigradina, since in the most ancient Epternach we read above Gradinus, in the Blume Amigradus. The position or place of the contest is likewise taken disjunctively, because in the abridged Hieronymian of Reichenau it is had: And in Mesopotamia, of Esicius, Animidas, Aurixus, which I for my part do not doubt was received from some more ancient Hieronymian. What further can be recorded concerning these Saints, you would seek in vain.
