Among the annunciations of the Epternach codex, however confused, occur eleven martyrs ascribed to Cesena in Italy, not to Cesana in India or Arabia, as Florentinius too scrupulously doubts. The same is the number in the Lucca codices, however the names of some be dislocated. After two rowers the Corbie copy adds, to which in this part I judge that faith can be given, which nevertheless I have not presumed to assert with certainty. In forming the names the usual difference occurs. For Cæsariana there is in the Lucca codex Cæsariane, more shamefully in the Epternach Tæsianæ; just as for Dimesus or Dimelus it writes Diomedes, and Timoratis for Thymogratis, in the Corbie Typogratis: another perhaps would have it Timocratis. But in these minutiae I do not see that so much labor is to be spent. Of Victor of Marseilles and his companions it is treated in its place, as also of Praxedes, whom we have already said does not seem to be reckoned among the Hieronymian ones.
