Istria, a Province of Italian jurisdiction across the sea, in the inmost gulf of the Adriatic, under the dominion partly of Venice and partly of Austria, had these Martyrs: with whom the Martyrology of S. Jerome is concluded, and they are thus reported in the ancient copies: In Istria, of Zoelus, Saturus, Tyminus, Saturninus, Servulus, Felix, Silvanus, Fortunatus, Mamerus. The last only is in the Corbie manuscript, printed at Paris. But Tyminus and Saturninus are wanting in the Lucca manuscript, and for Saturninus there "Saturnus" is read, as for Servulus, "Servilius." In the Rheinau manuscript mention is made of Zoelus, Saturus, Servilius, but all are wrongly attributed to Syria. They are reported more accurately by Notker, in these words: In Histria, of Zoelus, Satyrus, Thyminus, Saturninus, Servulus, Felix, Silvanus, Fortunatus. In the manuscripts of Gellone, Augsburg, Labbe, and S. Gall are found the names of Zoelus and Fortunatus.
