Concerning these Martyrs, in the third place, these things are had in the often-related ancient copy of the monastery of Echternach: "And in Africa, of Quintianus, Tecla, Theodolus, and Festina." Which also, but Tecla omitted, are had in three other copies, namely the Corbie, the Lucca, and the Blume. The manuscript of the Queen of Sweden sets these forth: "In Africa, the birthday of Sts. Quintianus, Theodolus, with two others," namely, Tecla and Festina. The Reichenau manuscript: "And in Africa, of Quintianus, Festinus." The memory of Quintianus the Martyr is celebrated in the Augsburg, Gellone, Paris of Labbe, and Roman of Duke Altemps manuscripts. But of all four, in the Florentine ones of the Grand Duke, and of Senator Strozzi, and of the Conventual Fathers. In the Brussels one of St. Gudula, the name of St. Quintianus is read: likewise of Tecla the Virgin. Greven in the Additions makes mention of Theodolus. Thus, those who are read here and there among various authors, are best joined together in the said Echternach manuscript. In some manuscript of ours Protus is added, but he is venerated at Aquileia on this day, although he suffered with Sts. Cantius, Cantianus, and Cantianilla on the 31st of May, when we treated of them.
