The ancient copies of the Hieronymian Martyrology begin this day with these Saints, and the Corbie one, printed at Paris, indeed in this manner: V Kalends of June. In Pamphylia, of Zetulus, Primus, Nonnus, Euresus, Julius. These things there, which, the last being omitted, are thus referred in the Blume Manuscript: In Pamphylia, of Zetolus, Primus, Nonnus, Curesus. In the Lucca codex these are read: In Pamphylia, of Zotolus, Primus, Nonna, Curesus. Then in these three copies follow the African Martyrs, who being cast into one band with these, and Pamphylia, the most noted region of Asia, being omitted, all are attributed to Africa in the Echternach Manuscript in these words: V Kalends of June. In Africa, the birthday of Getulus, Nunnus, Primus, Aurosus (and these are assigned above to Pamphylia), Protus, Marus, Minia, Felicianus. Of whom we shall treat presently. After the example of this, the Rheinau and Reichenau Manuscripts hand down these things: In Africa, of Cetulus, or Catulus, Aurosus, Protus: and all wrestling being omitted, the names of Zetulus or Zotolus, and Primolus instead of Primus, are read in the Augsburg Manuscript of St. Udalric and the Parisian one of Labbe. There are assigned moreover to Pamphylia, Zetulus, in others Getulus, Cetulus, Zetolus, Zotolus, Catulus; then Primus, also called Primolus; then Nonnus, in others Nunnus and Nonna: afterwards Euresus, in others Aurosus and Curesus. Last, from the Corbie codex alone, is added Julius.
ON THE HOLY AFRICAN MARTYRS,
PORTINUS, OR PROTUS, ARMINIA, OR MARIMINIA, AND SECUNDINUS.
From the same more ancient Martyrologies.
CommentarySt. Portinus or Protus, Martyr in Africa.
St. Arminia or Mariminia, Martyr in Africa.
St. Secundinus, Martyr in Africa.

In the already mentioned Corbie codex printed at Paris, after the said Pamphylian Martyrs, these things follow: In Africa, of Portunus, Ariminia, Secundinus. But the last being omitted, these are had in the Lucca and Blume copies: In Africa, of Portinus, Arminia. But because we said the preceding Pamphylian Martyrs were cast into one band with these in the Echternach Manuscript, of these the following names are found there, Protus instead of Portinus, then Marus, Minia, or rather by one word Mariminia, instead of Ariminia or Arminia, and Felicianus is added. But this seems put in place of Felix, and is to be referred also to the Sardinian Martyrs, omitted in the said Manuscript.
