This is another class of Martyrs, with the same number and names recorded in four copies of the Hieronymian Martyrology, in these words: In Mesopotamia, of Archelaus, Cyprian, Comatus, Veronica, Acuta, Diogenes the Deacon, Names in the ancient Fasti on April 15 with two brothers. For Archelai is also read Arcelai and Arcillai, and for Comati also Comatis. In the illustrious manuscript codex of Cardinal Barberini, after the genuine Martyrology of Bede (which we have published from it and other monuments), these things are read: In Mesopotamia, of Archelaus, Cyprian, Diogenes with two brothers. The same, without mention of the brothers, are found in the ancient Roman manuscripts, one of the Vatican library in Lombardic character and marked with the number 5949, and the other of the library of the Duke Altemps. In the manuscript Martyrology of the monastery of Reichenau, Cyprian and Comatus are mentioned. But Comatus alone in the Rheinau manuscript, and Mesopotamia is set as the arena of martyrdom. Without the place are mentioned Archelaus, Diogenes, Veronica in the Paris manuscript of Labbé and the Augsburg manuscript of St. Ulrich, but Veronicus is written in the last. In the Tamlacht manuscript among the Irish the memory of Sts. Archelaus, Cyprian, Diogenes the Deacon, and Acuta is celebrated. In Greven, in the supplement of Usuard, is found Carcellaius, in place of Archelaus, and Diogenes. The day before this day, in the manuscript Martyrology of the Church of Prague, Archelaus, Also on April 14. Cyprian, and Diogenes the Deacon are commemorated. From all of which their ancient veneration in various Churches is confirmed.
