The Menaea celebrate these three Martyrs, unknown elsewhere, with this notice: SS. Theion and his companions slain by the sword. On the same day, the holy Martyr Theion, together with two boys, was slain by the sword.
The boys fall most readily beneath the sword: Theion follows with the utmost eagerness.
Whether these were the children of Theion, as Raderus translates, is not clear from the Menaea; for they call them merely paidas, a word by which children, servants, or any boys are customarily designated.
