ON ST. CHRYSOGONUS, CONFESSOR, AT GENOA IN LIGURIA.
Commentary.
Chrysogonus, Confessor, at Genoa in Liguria (St.)
Author I. B.
In the already cited Calendar of Saints who are celebrated in particular churches of Genoa, published by the authority of Cardinal Durazzo, Archbishop of Genoa, on the same 27th of February, St. Chrysogonus, Confessor, is inscribed, who is said to be celebrated in the Church of the Order of St. Francis, and his Relics are said to be preserved there. I have nowhere read of a Chrysogonus who was a Confessor, and the only Saint of that name is one who, having completed his martyrdom at Aquileia, is venerated in the Roman Breviary on the 24th of November.
