In the adduced names there is such variation in the codices, that for Neratia one has Neracia, another Neratea: so Calocerus for Calorus: whether Partinus, Parthimus, or Parthemius is to be written, is equally uncertain. Spectatus for Spretus the Corbie alone reads; so for Pastorus and Emilis the Epternach alone wrote Marthorus and Amelus. And these indeed are of lighter moment. In the number of twenty-one champions the Lucca codices and the Epternach agree, although the latter seems to have divided the class; so that in the Corbie alone Magnus is superadded, whom I did not think should be excluded. Thou wilt find in the Usuardus of Greven joined together Magnus the presbyter and Amorinus; both, I think, from some Hieronymian codex, the latter from the following Roman class, the former from some codex similar to the Corbie, whom someone, without doubt, transmuted from martyr into presbyter, into some confessor; as has now often been observed.

Of this class Notker found only four, namely Passeria, Macrinus, Saturus, and Emilius: in the Lucca codices and the Corbie are added Nestita and Amarinus or Amirinus; and in both editions there is subjoined: And elsewhere of Secundus, whom nevertheless the Epternach codex most expressly placed in its class in the penultimate place, which we here prefer to the rest, extending that handful of holy martyrs to the number of seven. For Nestita, such as is also named in the Corinthian troop, we preferred with our codex to read Vestita, although we have chosen Satyrus and Amarinus rather than Saterus and Ametinus.
