This is another Class of Martyrs, indicated in the four copies of the Hieronymian Martyrology, which in the Epternach is set forth thus: "In Africa, of Victurus, Euasius, Privata, Januaria, Donata, Spisina, Quirillus." In the Lucca and Blume copies it is written "Victor," and in the last Quirillus is missing. In the Corbey it reads "Privatus, Januarius, Spissina"; in the rest they agree with the Epternach. Ms. of Queen Christina of Sweden, published by Holstenius, has thus: "In Africa of Victurus, Euasius, Quirillus, with four others"; whose names we have given: and they are so set forth by Notker: "In Africa of Victurius, Euasius, Privita, Januaria, Donata, Spisma, Quirillus." Where by an error of the scribes is "Privita" and "Spisma," for "Privata" and "Spisina."
[2] Ms. Barberini; "In Africa, of Victurus, Euasius, Privata." In Mss. Labbé, Gellone, and S. Gallus: "Africa of Victurus, Privata, Donata"; but for the two last in the Augsburg one is read "Privatus and Donatus." With the arena Africa omitted, mention is made of Victorus, Privata and Acusus (perhaps in place of Euasius), in the Ms. of Aachen. But the names of Victurus and Vasius, in place of Euasius, are in the Reichenau, and Innocent is added, of whom elsewhere no mention is made. In Greven is read Victor, Lunicia, Privata; where the name "Lunicia" is corrupted from another. In the Ms. Maximinian mention is made of Victurus. Again Januaria, Donata, Spisina from the same Mss. are reported on the following day, as we note there and warn the reader. SS. Victurus, Euasius, Privata are also held on the following day in the Ms. Barberini, which we relegate hither.
