We proceed with the ancient transcripts of the Hieronymian Martyrology, of which the Blume has these things: In Ephesus of Saturninus, Saturus, Timinus, Tomunus, Victorius, Stialus, Victoria, Flavinus. In the other three transcripts, in Ephesus of John the Evangelist, is read: which name we judge added for the sake of honor, because that city by his habitation, death, and veneration he honored. But as regards the Martyrs, by all the standard-bearer is placed Saturninus: but Saturus is lacking in the Epternach and Corbie: in this also is lacking Timinus, who in the Lucca Timidus is written. Instead of Stialus in the Lucca is Scialus, in the other two Istialus: and for Flavinus is in the said Corbie Flavius, but in the Epternach Fluinus. In the Aachen Ms. is related Secundinus, whether perhaps instead of Saturninus, we do not dare to conjecture: we propose meanwhile to the reader all these things, that they may be of use when surer things are drawn out from other monuments.
