ON SS. MACEDO AND COMPANIONS: JULIAN, VICTOR, AND FELIX, MARTYRS,
CommentaryMacedo, martyr. (S.)
Julian, martyr. (S.)
Victor, martyr. (S.)
Felix, martyr. (S.)
G. V. H.
Since these martyrs occur only in the Echternach codex of the Hieronymian martyrology, distinct from their namesakes of Terracina, of whom we have treated above, except for Macedo, it is therefore rightly doubted whether perhaps the names of those same martyrs are being repeated. In the case of Macedo a similar doubt occurs, since afterwards mention is made of Macedonius or Macedo.
