ON SS. FELIX AND CRESCENTIUS, MARTYRS,
CommentaryFelix, martyr. (S.)
Crescentius, martyr. (S.)
In the Corbie copy of the Hieronymian martyrology the memory of the holy martyrs Felix and Crescentius is celebrated today. Of these we have nothing to say. Are they repeated names of other Felixes, of whom there is a huge number in the calendars of the saints, and of Crescentiuses, of whom several are celebrated in the martyrologies? or are they different from these namesakes? Certainly Felix and Crescentius or Criscentius occur in some copies of the Hieronymian Martyrology on the 19th day of May.
